The Morning Report - 1/21/21 [J.J. Sefton]

letheelbeg.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and I'm numb. I really don't know that I have the koy'ech to do this today, and when I realize I've got another 1,460 days after today I want to go stick my head in an oven. Then again, considering the dreck I'm wading through from yesterday, I'm sure there are quite a few Biden boosters eager to lay their "heeling" hands on my neck and give me a Cass Sunstein patented nudge.

What those who actually decided to torture themselves saw in DC yesterday was Dave "Iowahawk" Burge's saying writ large:

1. Identify a respected institution.
2. Kill it.
3. Gut it.
4. Wear its carcass as a skin suit, while demanding respect.

If that doesn't encapsulate what the Democrat/Enemy has done to this country since time immemorial, and most assuredly yesterday, I don't know what does. Huey Long (ironically a Democrat, and perhaps the Bernie Sanders of his day) once said that fascism would come to this country, but it would appear in another guise. It would come wrapped in the flag claiming to be a savior of democracy. Not that I'm a fan of Long but how right he was.

Katie Hopkins witnessed yesterday firsthand:

It feels numb here, like watching surgery on your own hand when you are anesthetized against the pain, but can still see the knife cutting flesh and watch your own blood flow. That's exactly what it is like in D.C. Without people, there is no emotion. And without emotion, no one can feel anything. And just like surgery, it feels unreal.

It is emotion that makes these events matter. And there is none to be had here. This is a sterilized inauguration in a city sanitized by a garrison of troops. All you can feel is numb.

Biden stepped up to the podium, on an empty stand, addressing a mall void of life and spoke of his hopes for unity:

This is our moment of crises and challenge. And unity is the only path forward... Let's start afresh. Let's start to listen to one another, see one another, hear one another.

I look around at all the facemasks and muted mouths. And feel my eyes roll in their sockets.

We must reject a culture in which facts are manipulated and manufactured.

I remember those suitcases of ballots being hauled out from under tables in Pennsylvania, and the statistically improbably vote dumps in the swing states, and wonder how this old man is not choking on his words.

America has to be better than this. Just look around. Here we stand in the shadow of the capitol dome. We endured. We prevailed.

I look around just as he asks us to do, and I see how barren it all is. This man is all but alone with his lies. Nothing has prevailed here, not joy, not emotion, and certainly not the will of the American people.

Daniel Greenfield also nails it:

There were no crowds, just soldiers. After the military and police contingent, the second largest group there for the inauguration weren't Biden's civilian supporters, but his propagandists. With few people, the media had to work twice as hard to manufacture the illusion that this was a popular leader taking office instead of a usurper imposed by Amazon, Google, Facebook, and the rest of the political, cultural, and economic oligarchy which owns the media on America.

CNN, a subsidiary of AT&T, had already gushed about, "Joe Biden's arms embracing America". MSNBC, a subsidiary of Comcast, compared Biden to God. "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." The only wounds being bound up were those of the ruling class which had temporarily lost electoral power to an army of flyover country workers and peasants, only to reclaim it with sedition, wiretapping, abuse of power, billions of dollars, and soldiers in the street...

...Biden isn't a charismatic leader. He isn't moving the cause forward. He's a placeholder for a ruling class that wants homes in Dupont Circle that it buys by selling out America to China, by ruining our economy with environmental consulting gigs and racial contract quotas, and for all the manifold ways which the swamp is coming back as Biden's wetlands restoration project.

"Hail to the Thief" is as much their anthem as it is Biden's. They fought to keep hold of D.C., the center of their power base not because they care about its history or that of this country, but because it's where they network, collaborate, and do their dirty little deals at our expense.

The troops in the street are their warning to the rest of the country about who is really in charge.

At the risk of going off on a tangent, I left the following as a comment on one of the articles I sourced for this morning. That said, it is nevertheless appropriate given some of the completely blind attitudes of some pundits as to how our world has been turned upside down since (s)Election Day: 'We are not voting our way out of this ever again. But the root of the problem was, is and always will be the schools. Yes, the election was stolen and America was overthrown for sure at the ballot box. But that could never have happened had the previous two to three generations of our citizenry not had their minds poisoned from K through post-grad. Anything even remotely socialist in terms of politicians would've been a joke, as it was in 1980 when Gus Hall and Angela Davis ran on the Communist Party line.

But only 29 years later, a man who voted for them became the director of the CIA while his boss, whose father/father-figure was a Stalinist enemy, became President. And here we are 12 years later, in a nightmare that will make 09-16 look like a walk in the park.

Crackpots like Ibram X. Kendi are not outliers; they are mainstream not only in failed urban shit-holes, but in schools all across the country. Unless and until we purge every classroom and lecture hall of his acolytes - who I fear are the majority in academia - we do not stand a snowball's chance in hell. And with virtually every other aspect of our society and government controlled by, beholden to or otherwise cheering on the tyranny, the task may very well be impossible at this point.'

And yet, we are still here. Millions and millions of us. I don't have to invite the Enemy to do their worst; you can bet your life that that is exactly what they are going to do. It will be a testament to our character how we respond.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

11 In the coming weeks or months, Biden's gross inadequacies for the presidency will become painfully apparent. We must hold accountable those people who foisted this perverted and demented old man on the American public. Zuckerberg, Google, Bezos, the Democrat party, CNN (AT&T), NBC (Comcast), ABC (Disney). And when Harris takes over and her complete bizarreness is on full display, we must hold them accountable again. Who knows how many people actually voted for Biden, but those who cast honest votes for were fed lies about Trump for five years, while Biden's physical and mental fitness were never addressed, and his decades' long corruption were covered up or ignored.

How fitting.
They had been amping up rumors of an armed right-wing militia attack, something that would have Biden look heroi s and triumphant against thos hick haters.

As they say, the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. Biden hollow inauguration day was indifference to the fake celebration, indifference to the assembled celebrities we were meant to see as validating his star power and importance. We don;t have to play along with the press, the influencers, who try to tell us which words have gravity, which people deserve our respect, attention, and affection.

If a tree falls in the forest. . . if a cheater holds a winner's ceremony and no one attends the celebratory events, did he really win?

I don't think it matters. Purge them, and more will fill the void. Where "we" screwed up, I'm pretty sure, is not fielding our own propaganda arm to counter theirs. Until "we" do that - I'm pretty sure a loss is inevitable. And I just don't know if the modern right has it in them to play that game.

The quotes around "we" are in the interest of open disclosure. I don't know what qualifies as conservative anymore. Pretty sure I don't make the team photo, though.

They censored the President of the United States. They wouldn't cover speeches, they wouldn't report stories, and they didn't cut into their soap operas when historic peace deals were being signed in the Middle East (that I assume Biden pulled us out of yesterday). They didn't cover Biden's laptop, sexual abuse, Hunter's Russia/Chinese connections, etc, and the Republicans in the House and Senate changed their mind about their opposition as soon as that car exploded in Georgia.

A nobody on Twitter is not going to hold them accountable anywhere outside their home, church, or county*. They're not going to let him.

The GOP as it stands is dead. It is in fact the GOP Wing of the Democrat Party. It's base are the fascit corporatists of the CoC who are in bed with the Left in dismantling our economy and shipping it overseas to China.

Overcoming the billions of dollars it can generate is an herculean task. So is forming a new party. And the nature of our political landscape and culture means soon enough, even that party will be corrupted.

While getting ready to

done their job well and Americas president will have a successful bath.

I'm sorry. That sounds painful. Would the pastor be aware of their continuing to withdraw money even if you had not sent in a renewal card?. That sounds like something the treasurer would be involved with. Did the church vote on closure or that was the decision of the pastor by the vote the Parish Council or Administrative Board.

I realize that it's very hard to leave a church after being there for a while, but please consider finding another church. If it's been closed you wouldn't know if other people felt the same way-and granted I'm biased, but I think people of faith need to be in a supportive OPEN church at this time

142 Looking back at when the writing on the wall started to appear, I'd say it was the mythical Huber investigation. Remember "Huber will come!" ??? Here was a prosecutor who was set up to do an investigation of all of the misdeeds of the previous years, like Uranium One and the Ukraine fiasco, and he went off in private to prepare indictments, and what did he do for a year and a half? He covered up and hid evidence and did absolutely nothing at all. Right from the start, the people Trump trusted on the legal side betrayed him.

And Jeff Sessions was probably the worst pick of all - his sloth and cluelessness led to all of the evil that followed.

145 121 The interesting thing about the Biden presidency is that he has no base. He has a lot of people who voted for him, and are glad he won, but he does not have the kind of visceral support that Trump and Obama had. This makes things complicated for him as he attempts to implement his agenda, beyond the matter of how many donkeys or elephants there are in Congress. Other than executive orders, that is.

167 If it consoles anyone with a bit of justice, any Catholic would have to assume that Joe Biden is very, very busy consigning himself to hell.

First, supporting abortion by word or deed is a mortal sin. Second, you cannot receive the Eucharist with the stain of a mortal sin on your soul. Now for all I know, Biden goes to confession every week and tells the priest he supported abortion and has no intention of ever doing so again and will try very hard not to, and Biden has found a big enough ninny of a priest who will absolve him. But I have never met such a priest, and I don't believe they exist.

This means that Biden receives the Eucharist with the stain of a mortal sin on his soul. This is also a mortal sin, and when you die with mortal sins on your soul, you do not go to purgatory, you do not go to heaven, you do not pass Go and collect your $200. As Catholics (and maybe others too) say, the gates of hell lock from the inside.

And yes, it's quite possible I'm violating Matthew 7:1. But as long as Biden is working diligently to promote grave evil, what else are we to think?

And the bigger the corporation, the slicker he has to be. All corporate politicans are socialists in the sense that they are all about feathering their nests. And the people they draw to them are birds of a same feather.

Yep. He knew exactly that he was handing DOJ over to Rosenstein and knew what would follow. He wasn't clueless but true, he was complicit. If he had only been clueless and sad, I suspect Trump would have backed his return to the Senate, he called him out as a traitor instead.

203 But mostly it was precisely the "What's Good For Big Business Is Good For America" Chamber of Commerce types who let the commies march through academia, then the media, then literally every aspect of society unchallenged.

To be fair, that theory would have worked if the commies hadn't also marched through big business. They've sacrificed profit for wokeness. They don't care if they go broke being woke, because their wives are still getting into the right parties. (This goes well with the Tablet Mag piece I posted earlier in this thread about the homogenization of the elites).

I've remarked that they've done a nice job of setting up a ministry for shut-ins in hospice, but that's all they've got left from what used to be a vibrant church with a congregation. And that's not what I need or was ever looking for.

Of the people who remain, and who are mostly elderly, I would call it not a church, just a funeral parlor with a long reservation list.

They can be open because it's a huge building, but you have to have reservations. The rector preaches and officiates at communion, but if the Deacon is scheduled to preach they cannot actually come in the building. They have to broadcast their message. Does this make any sense? It's lunacy. It also sets up a hierarchy. The rector can be there, but the lowly Deacom cannot go in the building. I guess the Deacon has more "cooties" than the Rector. My friend things this is asinine and he tells the Rector so. He's a friend of the Deacon which is why he goes.

293 The schools are surely a major problem, JJ. I think they are also in symbiosis with the press and entertainment media. It makes for a nice commie pincer. You get exposed to formal claptrap in schools and then come home. If your parents are doing their jobs, they will ask you how things went and what you learned and review your homework. They'll see the claptrap and will likely try to correct it. You may listen depending on your disposition.

Then you'll watch some after dinner TV and have a much more subtle form of the same claptrap leak in, reinforcing what you learned.

And it isn't even a conspiracy (outside of education, where the takeover was planned). No one could reasonably come up with such a multi-faceted scheme. It is simply what happens when everyone in the industry (or multiple industries, in this case) is ideologically aligned. There needn't be a grand plan, there need only be a critical mass of alignment. The rest takes care of itself.

I took two shopping excursions with my brother here in occupied CO over the course of the week. Maskless, we found that the supermarket staff at the big national chain (Safeway) were helpful and courteous until we got to checkout. There, the clerk very shrilly told us we had to mask up to check out. I suspect they were losing inventory when people abandoned their carts willy-nilly in the store. If people abandon at checkout, it makes restocking easier. This would seem to go against your assessment.

On the other hand, excursion two to the Oriental market, went another direction. Same when in the store, but at the check stand the clerk got spooked by the unmasked, walked away, and got her supervisor to come to check us out. That points to your assessment.

With over 300 million cellphones and hundreds of millions of social media accounts, it's trivial to create instant martyrs or archvillians.

Remember how quickly they canonized St. George "stuff 3X the lethal drug amounts in my body" Floyd?

Remember how the media spent weeks driving Nicholas Sandman to near suicide because he smiled at a Native American the wrong way?

It's trivial when the narratives are instant and have a multi-week shelf-life, ready to be brought up the second uncomfortable facts are brought to the surface.

The two phenomena are distinct, I think. One side is the "there's a grand plan, it's all on purpose" (the Q side) and the other side is, "there's so much evidence writ large of what they did that people are going to go down for this and justice will be served" (the hopium side). These are not the same, though they can intersect.

The latter, which was more common, is rooted not in grand designs and conspiracies but in a faith in American justice. Those subscribing to the hopium track likely couldn't believe that the Republic they cherished and loved was dead, and that law and justice no longer exist. To a true classical patriot, that is an irreconcilable position. Folks like our much (and I think unfairly) maligned JackStraw are, I think, in this position. They believed in American Justice and couldn't accept that it is dead.

Both you and Ian confuse me on this issue. I tried to persuade JS in 2017 of how important it was to have rapid prosecution of individuals for using government spy agencies for political fights. I could not persuade him, because he believes institutional redemption (of FBI/DOJ etc) demands full investigations and following their stipulated rules for prosecutions. Having failed to persuade him, I realized then that a significant part (maybe the larger part) of "our side" still believes in the integrity of our institutions. I do not. So, to me, at this late stage arguing with each other on these points doesn't really serve a goal. Lots of good people still think the FBI et al can somehow be redeemed. But that doesn't make them enemies, and we should focus on the next fight (where we might need them and by which time they might have come around) and not the last one.

I think it's the last one. I suspect that when Trump said that, it was true. It was obvious to anyone who had been paying attention. A lot of people - citizen investigators, not the DoJ/FBI - did a lot of heavy lifting and investigated that case in public (just like what happened with the election). The evidence was out there and known. Trump knew, too, and probably knew a bit more.

But he hit the brick wall of the deep state. The only way to overcome that would have been a purge and dismantlement of large tracts of the government, more than possibly requiring a fair amount of violence. I think he wouldn't play those cards.

Read some of the affidavits filed under penalty of perjury. They are very specific and precise in their allegations of first hand fraud. They were all denied based on procedural issues and never were reviewed for materiality. That SCOTUS won't even take up the Constitutional issues guarantees it will happen again.

403 Oil and gas, energy companies love drilling bans, costly over regulation and taxes. They were reorganized decades and decades ago to feed off of price controls and forced commodity sparseness. They would be overjoyed if all domestic production was halted and their were major shortages. The vast majority of their employees and customers would suffer but that is, of course, the least of any big businesses interest.

No large business or institution does what you think it does and their actions will not make sense because of that.

407 Yeah, a lot of good people got swept up in the Q stuff. But that was their mission, to be a distraction and to hurt the credibility of Republicans. It's pretty clear that was, and is, their sole purpose.

There was a lot of disinformation and division being peddled by foreign intelligence agencies that people also bought into. Most people never determined the source of the information they were repeating and whether it was credible. It was then repeated like it was Gospel and fact, when it was none of those things. This is what happens when people's passions are inflamed and they are not thinking logically or intellectually. These are classic techniques in information ops that are used precisely for the reasons you are seeing right now.

People need to learn to be less gullible and susceptible to this kind of subversion.

What they hate is that Trump actually did what they said they would do and it worked -- exposing them as idiots and traitors.

Expand that to everything.
"Republicans can't win the middle." Trump did it.
"Middle East peace cannot be done piecemeal." Trump did it.
"It is impossible to thaw tensions with North Korea without buying them off and creating more problems down the road." Jury's out, but it looks like Trump did it.
"No trade deal that does not involve unrestricted free trade with the United States or that involves tariffs will not work." Trump showed otherwise.

He upset their expert prognostications at literally every turn.

Posted by: Lizzy at January 21, 2021 09:17 AM (bDqIh)

Could not disagree more. The circular firing squad is necessary. For far, far too long - we have pretended that we are one big happy family on the right, unified in political thought. That is simply not the case. We have Statists who believe in the primacy of the state over the citizen - as long as that state leans to the right. We have true believed in small government - they are not compatible with the Statists. We have GOP apologists, and those who will never support that party again. We have those who still believe i working within the system, and those who want to burn it down.

We are long, long overdue for a good circular firing squad. Because as things stand, our "big tent" can't accomplish a damn thing. How could we ? The only thing we agree upon is a dislike of the left.

And we now know how all of that turned out. there wasn't 4D chess strategy because the game was rigged from the beginning. Trump already started in check and was in defense the entire time.
No. Q was a masterpiece of military psyop. and the stupid "Q Clearance" bullshit was the icing on the cake. Oh- a...Q clearance! He must KNOW things. The soi boi writer figured out there are different security levels besides top secret and went with it- because Q sounds so mysterious!

Equities are but one measure of economic health. There are many others and the stock market doesn't directly correlate to many of them. One important factor is earnings growth, and that is going to take a hit in certain sectors. They are betting tech stocks will keep the run up, but in my opinion many of them are way overvalued. The value they actually bring, and whether that is tangible over the long run is a big question. Jobs are going to take a hit, as are certain industries like energy. When you look at out economic growth over the last few years, hurting that sector will not be a good thing for us. They have also crushed the small business growth engine with this COVID bullshit. 518 Again, a fundamental falsehood you all put forward is that there are more of you than there are of us, but you all lost 4 out of the 5 national general elections this century, by 6,898,049 votes last year.

-----

1. Cant you FEEEEEL the unity.

2. YOU got YOUR asses kicked in every non Presidential election this century. During you Lord and Saviors Lightbringers term, YOU lost over a THOUSAND seats at the federal, gubernatorial and state house level, which you've never regained, except for maybe the House. But even with this years election, you lost a PERFECT 27 of 27 tossup house seats and got slaughtered... again... at the state house level.

Which brings me to the central question again..... who were all the people voting right of center that MAGICALLY split their vote for SLow Joe. How exactly did that happen? Its not like he campaigned or anything.....

That's silly. Who has the majority of Governorships and Legislatures, all the way down to the local level? Redistricting from the census will even lessen your perceived "power".

528 20 Unless and until we purge every classroom and lecture hall of his acolytes - who I fear are the majority in academia - we do not stand a snowball's chance in hell. I hear you. Truth does not require propaganda. It just is. Unfortunately, that is the root of inaction. Lies require incredible amounts of work. American Communists have worked very hard at lying. It really is something to behold. It is satanic, and Satans Retards think they have prevented Hitler II all while unlocking the doors that held him back. It is amazing to have witnessed. Someone will put it into words someday. I like to believe that I am blessed in that I see and understand. Mark 13:37 - Watch!

Mrs. Peel - You did the right thing! I left my long-time church in July of last year for the very same reason. If a pastor won't allow his congregation to gather, he's not doing his job. Period.

531 Mrs. Peel: The other day, my daughter suggested that our family rent a movie theater if we could find a movie worth watching. She said that it only costs around $100.00 here in Omaha. I know there are a couple of congregations that use movie theaters for Sunday services. Could you scare up some people like yourself and a sympathetic pastor? You might not all belong to the same sect, but it would at least give you the opportunity to worship with a community, even if it's a small, mismatched community.

Reforrming academia (or really, any failed institution) is impossible, at least for the foreseeable future. The only viable solution is to create new institutions. This is the silver lining of the digital age, which is destroying the old institutions - it makes creating new ones relatively easy. You don't need a big physical campus anymore. You can do most education online. And when the new institutions start producing better graduates than the poor slobs enduring the old ones, people will notice.
